Leisure Industry Careers Day

This Careers Day experience is designed to showcase the leisure sector and the variety of jobs and opportunities within it.

Designed with 10 to 18-year-olds in mind, this programme will explore communication, teamwork, problem solving, listening skills, presentation skills and decision making.

Career Talk & Tour

Students will be able to hear from a member of the Gulliver's Crew, discussing the history of the company and the leisure industry, highlighting the different roles.

A guided tour will then take place exploring the Resort, incorporating mini talks in specific departments such as accounting, catering, stores and entertainment.

Careers Activities

    Catering

    Students will make their own lunch from the ingredients provided, exploring food hygiene and allergens.

    These will be Subway-style sandwiches with each team taking it in turn to make and then serve to the rest of the group.

  2. Retail

    Retail

    Students will explore the retail merchandising experience. 

    They will take charge of stock, arrange a stock plan, set up shop and price items.

    Rides

    Students will enjoy a Ride Operator experience, exploring safety information and procedures.

    They will complete ride and safety checks, height checks, ride loading, safety restraints, ride unloading, radio procedures and evacuation plans.

  4. REINDEER

    Animal Encounters

    Students will enjoy an animal encounter experience, helping clean, feed, water and care for animals.
