Hospitality Careers Day
This Careers Day experience is designed to showcase the hospitality sector in the leisure industry and the variety of jobs and opportunities within it.
Designed with 10 to 18-year-olds in mind, this programme will explore communication, teamwork, problem solving, listening skills, presentation skills, decision making and customer care skills.
Career Talk & Tour
Students will be able to hear from a member of the Gulliver's Crew, discussing the history of the company, the leisure industry and why customers are so important.
A guided tour will then take place exploring the Resort, incorporating mini talks in specific departments such as retail, catering and hotel.
There'll also be a video concerning the commercial factors of the business.
Careers Activities

Stores & Stock Operation
Students will explore the stock operation and learn the process behind putting a delivery away.
They will also discuss freezer and fridge temperatures as well as mechanical aid.

Retail
Students will take part in an Ice Cream Challenge where they will make their own Whippy Ice Cream while exploring food hygiene.
They will then serve these to each other, showcasing their customer services skills.

Restaurant
Students will explore the restaurant service. They will serve dinner, learn how to carry plates efficiently and take orders.

Hotel Accommodation
Students will undertake COSHH training and learn how to set a lodge, making a bed and replenish the refreshment station.
They will explore the importance of standards and their role in overall customer satisfaction.
